The Interlochen Depot: A vibrant community hotspot.

One of our most favorite recent collaboration projects in Interlochen, Michigan. We designed the Interlochen Depot to be a dynamic gathering space where the community can connect, celebrate the outdoors, and enjoy streetfood. We continue to work on blending the area’s natural beauty with innovative food, art and music offerings. Last summer the Interlochen Depot became a go-to destination for locals and visitors alike. We are so grateful for all the local support we have received making this space a reality.

This project was never just about creating a space for relaxation and dining; it’s about building community.

The Interlochen Depot hopes to host a variety of community focused events throughout the summer seasons going forward, including but not limited to; Live music, outdoor movie nights, family-friendly programs, and local celebrations.

These gatherings will showcase regional talent and bring people together in an environment that fosters connection and appreciation for both nature and creativity.

We designed the space with families in mind, the Depot will feature nature inspired children’s hands-on areas with educational initiatives focused on the local ecosystem and picnic spots ideal for meals or get-togethers. A food truck area will encourage interaction with inviting seating arrangements nestled among trees, native plants, and the soothing sounds of wildlife or performances by local artists.



At its core, this project reflects a long-term commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement. By restoring native vegetation and cultivating a nature-focused space, we aim to create a haven where visitors can connect with the land and each other. With sustainably sourced food, local art, and engaging activities, the Interlochen Depot will always try and embody the spirit of collaboration, sustainability, and celebration.

Looking to the future:

  • A Food Truck will be back to serve every day in the 2026 season.

  • An incubator and mentoring program to support aspiring local entrepreneurs is in the works.

  • A showcase for local art and a celebration of community resilience.

  • A small stage for local musicians to plug in and play.

  • History signs for all to read.

  • Interpretive signs for local vegetation and wildlife.

  • Micro trails and dock walks through the natural areas.

  • Continued plantings and management to regenerate the land.
